<div><p>Sam Schmidt, age 78, of Manhattan, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at the Providence Medical Center in Kansas City.
</p><p>He was born on October 29, 1946, in El Dorado, Kansas, the son of Roman and Edith Schmidt. 
</p><p>Sam is survived by his wife Marla and his son Matthew.
</p><p>A visitation will be held on Thursday July 17, 2025, from 6:00 until 7:00p.m. at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home in Manhattan. The Parish Vigil with the Rosary will follow the visitation at 7:00p.m. at the funeral home.
</p><p>Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00a.m. Friday July 18, 2025, at the Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Manhattan, with Father Leo Blasi at Celebrant. Interment will follow at the Sunrise Cemetery in Manhattan.
</p><p>Memorial contributions in memory of Sam are suggested to the Manhattan Catholic Schools. Contributions may be sent in care of the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, 1616 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas 66502.
