Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home

Hayden Scott Becker, age 47, of Manhattan, KS died February 13, 2025, at the Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan following a brief illness.

He was born on May 24, 1977, in Redwood Falls, Minnesota, and was adopted at the age of 3 months by Andrew and Rikki (Silverman) Becker. He grew up in Overland Park, KS and then briefly in Buffalo Grove, IL and moved to Manhattan, KS in 1989. He attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated from Manhattan High School with the class of 1996. Hayden worked for SMH Consultants in Manhattan as a surveyor for over 20 years.

On November 22, 2014, he was united in marriage to Anita Dolinar in Manhattan, KS.

He enjoyed watching football, especially K-State Wildcats and Chiefs, spending time with his family and friends, and later in life, travelling. His favorite place to visit was Croatia, with his wife, and later also his son. Since day one, he fell in love with the country and the way of life and would tell anyone who would listen to how beautiful it was and how he wanted to build a house there and go back every year.

His greatest joy and accomplishment were becoming a father, and it came naturally to him—especially considering he never changed a diaper until he was 39 years old.  He loved being active and outside and could not sit still for more than an hour. He was known for his easy-going personality and infectious laugh. He never met a stranger and got along with everyone. He was not a selfish person and would do anything for others. He will be missed by all who know him.

He is survived by his wife, Anita, and their son, Oliver, of Manhattan, KS, his parents Andrew and Rikki Becker, of Manhattan, KS and his brother, Ryan Becker, of Frisco, TX. He also leaves behind many family members and friends.

Visitation services will be held on Tuesday February 25, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home. In his honor, please wear either Wildcat or Chiefs’ attire, and absolutely no KU gear.

Services will be held on Wednesday February 26, 2025, at the Manhattan Jewish Congregation, 1509 Wreath Avenue in Manhattan, starting at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at 1:30 PM at the Sunrise Cemetery in Manhattan.
