Emergency Management Director

Wabaunsee County is seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Management Director to coordinate the County’s emergency preparedness, response, mitigation, and recovery efforts. This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Board of County Commissioners.

Qualifications: Five years of experience in emergency management, public safety, military service, or a related field preferred. Must be able to obtain Kansas Certified Emergency Manager (KCEM) certification and complete required FEMA/NIMS training.

The Director will coordinate emergency services and disaster operations throughout Wabaunsee County and work with local, regional, state, and federal partners. Must be available to respond to emergencies and work extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
